As reported by The Sun, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha this summer.
Liverpool are set for an exciting summer as they look to build on their exceptional UEFA Champions League run by signing more elite talent when the transfer window opens.
One player on their radar is ex-Manchester United forward Wilfried Zaha.
That’s according to The Sun, who say the player is being considered by the Reds as part of a £50m deal.
The paper reckon Zaha is ready to make his move from Palace, hoping to play for a team that will be taking part in European competition next term.
Liverpool obviously tick that box, but face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City according to the report.
Zaha is in exceptional form right now, helping his side to a five-game unbeaten streak in the English Premier League, scoring four goals and creating an assist in that time.
Having been moved to a more central position at the Eagles this season, he’s scored eight goals in total which is the best return of his career.
Seen as a more creative player than an out and out goalscorer, he has plenty more to his game with dribbling and key passes in the final third his main strengths.
At 25 years old, he’s coming into his prime and in Jurgen Klopp’s dynamic system could shine, especially when surrounded by better players.
It may not have worked out for him when he moved to Manchester United, but there are signs he is ready to finally graduate from a long association with Crystal Palace and make a splash at a top six side.
