Loic Remy allowed to leave Marseille at the right price

Marseille striker Loic RemyLoic Remy will be allowed to leave Marseille in January if an acceptable bid is received, according to the club’s sporting director Jose Anigo, as reported by talkSPORT.

Premier League duo QPR and Newcastle are said to be tracking the French striker and are thought to be preparing to make bids within the coming weeks.

Although he is valued highly by his club, who see him as a key player, Anigo hinted that he could be sold should an attractive offer be made:

“Some English clubs are looking at our players and have not yet come knocking on the door,” he told L’Equipe.

“It will come. The only window of opportunity at the moment is for Loic Remy, if a big club comes for him and he is interested. We will see, but otherwise no one will go.

“His succession of injuries has hampered him, and saw him miss the Euros. But I think he is back. I can see in training there is a renewed confidence.

“But if he left, we still have a strong attack with (Andre-Pierre) Gignac and Jordan Ayew. We are well armed.”

Newcastle are thought to the favourites for his signature as they look to replace Demba Ba, who left to join Chelsea last week.

Meanwhile QPR are confident that they can lure him to London, as Harry Redknapp looks to strengthen his squad in a bid to stay in the Premier League.
