Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may be a favourite among supporters, but he has a worse points record than doomed ex-Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal after 50 Premier League games. The former Borussia Dortmund coach is a lovable character, with his enthusiasm on the touchline and witty interviews endearing him to Liverpool fans. The team have also been transformed into title challengers this season as they currently sit second in the standings, five points adrift of leaders Chelsea.[ad_pod id='now-tv' align='centre']However, an interesting stat from OptaJoe shows that the German is rather low in the list of managers who have accrued the most points in the top flight after a milestone of matches.

Jose Mourinho tops the list having picked up 126, while Klopp is down in eighth having guided the Reds to 92.

Even Van Gaal, who was sacked by United after winning the FA Cup last summer, has a better record than Klopp, albeit just two points more.

Klopp took charge of the Merseyside outfit in October 2015, and led them to two cup finals - the League Cup and Europa League - both of which they lost.
