Marouane Fellaini has been cleared of spitting at Pablo Zabaleta during the Manchester derby at Old Trafford last week, reports the Daily Star.
Footage emerged on YouTube of the Belgian midfielder appearing to spit in the direction of Zabaleta as he lay on the floor following a clash between the pair.
Referee Michael Oliver did not mention the incident in his match report, but the FA could have punished Fellaini retrospectively having reviewed video footage.
However, the Football Association confirmed on Monday that no action will be taken against the Manchester United midfielder.
Hull City midfielder George Boyd was banned for three matches last month, after the FA decided he had intentionally spat at Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart after reviewing video evidence.
United boss David Moyes revealed last week he had discussed the incident with Fellaini, who remained adamant he had done nothing wrong.
