Manchester United and Chelsea are set to miss out on the chance to sign Koke after he revealed his intentions to remain at Atletico Madrid, the Daily Star reports.
He rose through the club’s youth academy and has since earned himself a regular role for the current La Liga champions with Diego Simeone’s side placing a £48million release clause into his contract.
Despite being tipped for a switch to the Premier League however, Koke has now said that he is happy to stay and remain a big part of the team’s development, regardless of the growing interest from within the English top flight.
“I see life in red and white,” he said.
“I am happy here, the club is growing and I grow with it.
“I don’t see the time or the place to leave here.”
Atletico are currently third in La Liga, three points from second place Barcelona and trailing leaders Real Madrid by four, who have a game in hand over Simeone’s side.
