Manchester United and Liverpool have been alerted by the potential availability of Inter Milan star Samir Handanovic, with his agent revealing his client is looking to leave the San Siro club, according to reports from the Express.
Handanovic’s future at Inter isn’t secure despite making 27 appearances this season, with the Slovenia international reportedly holding talks with AS Roma last month.
However a transfer could not be agreed, which is set to open the door for both United and Liverpool to make a possible swoop.
The Red Devils have been linked with a variety of goalkeepers ever since Real Madrid have mooted their interest in United’s Number 1 David de Gea, who has yet to extend his contract at Old Trafford.
Liverpool on the other hand are looking to replace out-of-form goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, and could make a move for Handanovic during the summer.
But it seems that the 30-year-old wants to stay in Italy.
“For now we are not talking about it, as he has a contract until June 2016,” agent Federico Pastorello told Tuttosport.
“There were three very soft meetings with the Nerazzurri directors. What does Handanovic want to do? Well, he certainly loves Italy.”
