The PSV Eindhoven winger starred for the Oranje in Brazil over the summer, netting two goals – the bulk of his opportunities can from the bench – as his nation reached the semi-finals.
His pace, energy, eye for goal and technical ability have seen comparisons drawn between Depay and current Ballon d’Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo, alerting the likes of United and Arsenal, as well as Liverpool and Chelsea, to the 20-year-old.
Although PSV tied him down to a new contract at the back end of last year, a source close to the Eredivisie club has revealed that a move this month is not off the agenda:
“He is being tracked after his successful World Cup and performances for PSV.” The source is quoted by The Express.
“Many clubs have made approaches for him next summer but something could still happen this winter.
“The big four English clubs are very interested. So are the five German clubs with the best budgets and also Fenerbahce.”
The same source also suggested that a move to PSG, who are keen on Depay, would appeal to the young winger:
“PSG are very interested in him and Memphis appreciates Paris. He would be happy to join such a big club.”
