Arsenal and Manchester United have been urged to make a move for long-term transfer target Marek Hamsik by super agent Mino Raiola, who is convinced the midfielder can become “one of the best footballers in the world” if he leaves Napoli.
The Slovakia international has long been thought of as one of Serie A’s very best talents and has shone for the Naples-based side in recent seasons after breaking through at Brescia.
Arsenal and United – as well as Chelsea – have been linked with moves for his signature on many occasions in the past, yet Napoli have remained reluctant to sell.
Reports now claim that Hamsik himself is ready to leave his current employers – who value him at around £20m – and Raiola – who represents major layers such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Mario Balotelli – says that he has to move on as he has the potential to be one of the best:
“Marek is a great person, an amazing human. He has a great personality and as a player he is very close to Pavel Nedved.” He is quoted by The Express.
“If he leaves Napoli, he would be able to play for any team in the world. If I had to recommend a player, it would be Hamsik.
“The problem is that [Napoli owner] Dino De Laurentiis does not want to sell him. I am convinced that Hamsik is not taking advantage of his full talents. He has the ability to be one of the best footballers in the world.”
