Manchester United and Chelsea have received a blow in the race to sign Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain, with the striker in talks with Paris Saint-Germain in regards to a summer switch, according to reports from Le Parisien.
Higuain has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stadio San Paolo in recent weeks, with the Argentine finishing the Serie A campaign magnificently by scoring 36 league goals – breaking the previous record of 35 in a single season.
However, it seems that the 28-year-old has become the prime candidate to replace outgoing PSG ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with talks already underway between the Ligue 1 champions and Napoli.
With the Parisians one of the most financially powerful teams on the planet, the news will come as a huge blow to Premier League duo Chelsea and Man United, with both also interested in the former Real Madrid attacker.
The Naples club were in the Italian title race for much of the campaign, but were unable to stop Juventus from once again finishing as champions.
