Last night must have seemed like a dream to Michael Keane. Although he'll be disappointed with the defeat, making your England debut against Germany is a real fairy tale - especially for a player forced to make his name the hard way after being allowed to leave Manchester United as a youngster.

Keane moved to Burnley on loan in summer 2014 and was then sold to the Turf Moor outfit permanently the following January by Louis van Gaal, who rather inexplicably preferred Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett. Both are no longer with the club.

No doubt, Keane has been fantastic for Sean Dyche's side, impressing during his debut season and even more so following their return to the top flight in 2016, playing every minute of their Premier League campaign thus far.

He looked more than comfortable in an England jersey too, despite the Three Lions lining up in an untested 3-4-2-1 formation, and would have walked away with a clean sheet to his name had it not been for Lukas Podolski's result-deciding thunderbolt.

Accordingly, some Manchester United fans on Twitter are pretty livid with the decision to let him leave, whilst all seem keen on the idea of bringing him back to Old Trafford in the next transfer window...
