Manchester United haven’t quite found their feet under Jose Mourinho this season, although there were some positives signs at the weekend as the Red Devils overcame a hapless Swansea City outfit.
With three defeats already so far this season in the league though, United currently sit eight points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and are also off the pace in the Champions League run, sat six points behind Arsenal.
That deficit could be extended after the international break as the Gunners travel to Old Trafford but a victory could reignite United’s season and push the Red Devils on the better things.
Arsenal have been strong this season though, standing unbeaten in their last 16 games in all competitions, so Manchester United need all the help they can get- which is exactly why Juan Mata has to be a regular fixture in the team-sheet.

Statistics show that United have won just over 71% of their matches when Juan Mata is in the side, whilst they remain undefeated in those seven games, but the Red Devils have picked up just one point in their four matches without the former Chelsea midfielder.
It’s the sort of statistic that you can’t really argue with as it shows Mata is extremely important to Manchester United’s set-up, though the midfielder and Jose Mourinho have never fully seen eye-to-eye as the Portuguese manager was the one who authorised Mata’s exit from Chelsea.
