Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have been handed a massive boost in the race for Hoffenheim’s Roberto Firmino, with reports from The Express indicating that Inter Milan are now looking at other targets.
The Brazilian attacker – who has been dubbed the ‘new Kaka’ thanks to his tricky playing style and eye for goal – has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s finest talents after notching goal and assist tallies in double figures last term.
This has led to talk of a move away from Germany, with Liverpool, United ad Chelsea all names in the mix.
Inter Milan were, however, thought to be leading the race, but now it’s understood that they’re looking at other targets amid fears they cannot afford Firmino with the big spenders in the running.
A loan deal for Spurs’ Erik Lamela is on the cards, which could leave the Premier League trio clear to move for the versatile Hoffenheim ace.
Firmino is valued at upwards of £20m, and is thought to be open to a move to England.
United are thought to be keen to beat Liverpool to the silky forward, while Chelsea are monitoring the situation.
