Man United? Liverpool? Where will these out-of-contract stars end up?

With the end of the season fast approaching, plenty of attention has already turned to the summer transfer window with bags of speculation surrounding a number of players and their futures.

And while there are sure to be many big-money transfers across Europe over the coming months, there are also a lot players coming to the end of their contracts who can be snapped up for free, with the possible destination of these stars also leading to much speculation.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are among those Premier League clubs all said to be in the hunt for certain players who will be soon be without a club and are already free to talk to other teams.

And here are five such stars who look destined for a move and would certainly make a useful signing as their contracts come to an end. These lot are sure to have plenty of clubs chasing their signature.

Sami Khedira

Khedira

World Cup winner Sami Khedira has already revealed his intention to leave Real Madrid this summer having fallen behind the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in the pecking order.

But his future is far from certain with a host of clubs chasing the central midfielder’s signature.

The German could well be on his way to Premier League, but where he will end up is anybody’s guess. Reports have linked him to Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea among others, although a move back to the Bundesliga is also a possibility with Schalke another to express interest in the defensive midfielder.

Dani Alves

Dani Alves

Barcelona full-back Dani Alves is arguably the highest profile player that is coming towards the end of his contract after a fantastic career with the Spanish giants.

The 29-year-old is expected to leave this summer with no sign of being offered a new deal and has already been linked to plenty of clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Despite question marks over his defensive ability at times, there’s no doubting his threat as an attacking player, and his ability to get up and down the pitch and provide assists and goals will make him a useful asset to whoever manages to secure his signature.

Glen Johnson

Glen Johnson

Believe it or not but latest reports suggest Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson could be the man to replace Dani Alves at Barcelona.

The 30-year-old is expected to leave Anfield this summer; another player who has yet to agree a new deal and it appears a move abroad could be on the cards.

Since arriving from Portsmouth in 2009 for £17.5m, Johnson has often been criticised for his defensive ability although he has proved effective going forward. And without a league start since December his time at the club looks to be at an end in a move that would suit both player and club.

James Milner

Manchester City v Manchester United - Barclays Premier League

England midfielder James Milner looks set to leave the Etihad this summer after failing to agree a new deal with Manchester City despite the attempts of Manuel Pellegrini to extend his stay.

Often going unnoticed and getting the credit he deserves, Milner has been an important part of the City squad since his arrival in 2010 with 193 appearances for the club helping them to two Premier League trophies.

Reports suggest he is keen on a new challenge and Liverpool is said to be is most likely destination. Whomever signs him will be getting a quality hard-working player that will prove a big loss to The Citizens.

Luiz Adriano

Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk - UEFA Champions League Group E

Currently the Champions League’s top scorer this season with nine goals, Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano is another who is set for a move in the near future.

The 27-year-old has revealed he will honour his contract with Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk before leaving in December of this year when it comes to an end.

Having been at the club since 2007 he feels the time is right to move on, and is another who could be on his way to the Premier League after heavy links to both Arsenal and Liverpool.

Whether or not Shakhtar are willing to cash in on him during the summer remains to be seen but is also a possibility.
