Robin van Persie is returning ‘home’ this evening as Fenerbahce travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Europa League, at a time when things surrounding the Red Devils aren’t as cosy as many would like.
United’s defensive tactics were widely criticised following the 0-0 draw at Anfield on Monday evening, with Jose Mourinho parking the bus once again, and the Manchester heavyweights haven’t been too solid in Europe despite the lure of a Champions League spot for the winners.
Considering United’s lack of stability in the Premier League and the fact they have to fight with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for a top-four spot, focusing more on the Europa League would certainly be advised.
Tonight, though, Van Persie could certainly star for the Turkish side and his recent record at Old Trafford in Europe suggests he will be up for the occasion this evening – and it may not be a welcome return for United fans after all.

If he continues that run of form tonight, then Mourinho’s United will have plenty to worry about.
