Man United star unlikely hero, Barcelona battle – Five things we learnt this weekend

Even though Europe’s top five leagues ended last weekend, the football action continued with the finals of the domestic cups, which rather disappointedly ended with all the favourites winning.

Manchester United were crowned as the new FA Cup champions after coming from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace in extra time, with Jesse Lingard the hero by scoring a sensational top corner strike.

Meanwhile in Spain, Barcelona were once again winners of the Double, beating Europa League champs Sevilla 2-0 also in extra time following a feisty encounter. Why feisty? Well the match produced no less than 12 yellow cards and three reds, overshadowing Lionel Messi’s two beautiful assists to Jordi Alba and then Neymar.

In the Coppa Italia, it was much more of the same type of dominance, as all-powerful Juventus also went into extra time against a stubborn AC Milan side, with Arsenal-linked star Alvaro Morata scoring the extra time winner.

What about Germany and France? Your guess is probably right, but we bet you don’t know the other Jose Mourinho-related things we learned this weekend with Ryan Bailey!
