Real Madrid want Man United to buy Gareth Bale so that they can bank role a mega-money move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, according to the Express.
With Chelsea also interested in signing the former Tottenham star, it is believed both top-flight sides will be willing to play a part in severely weakening title rivals Man City.
Aguero only signed a new five-year deal at the Etihad in August and has always claimed he won’t leave the club until they win the Champions League.
But Real Madrid are serious about bringing him back to La Liga four years after his £38million move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
It has been suggested that Man United would be willing to sell new arrival Angel Di Maria to help finance a move for Gareth Bale next summer.
But Chelsea have also been linked with a huge £150m bid for Bale in recent weeks, which is a feee that would most likely give Real enough ammunition to mount a serious raid on Man City’s top goalscorer.
