Manchester City starlet Patrick Roberts is set for an 18-month loan switch to Celtic, according to BBC Sport.
The England under-19 international move to the Etihad from Fulham over the summer for around £8m, though has struggled for first team games.
Though he emerged as an exciting talent in West London last term, making 22 appearances altogether, he has only been able to muster three substitute outings this season.
In an effort to secure more regular action, it appears the 18-year old will now move north of the border in order to ply his trade with the Scottish giants.
Both clubs enjoy a good relationship in loan deals, with City have previously sent Jason Denayer and John Gudetti to Parkhead on a short-term basis with success.
It is understood that Roberts is due to arrive in Glasgow over the weekend in order to undergo his medical and apply the finishing touches before Monday night’s transfer deadline.
‘He is a very good player and I am sure Patrick will be a very important player here in the future’, revealed City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
‘I thought it was important that he trained with the first team for the first half of the season.’
‘But to play more games for him at Celtic will be better than to stay here and just play some games.’
