Manchester City are interested in signing Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo this summer, according to his agent.
The 29-year-old is contracted to Italian side Juventus but has spent the last two seasons on-loan at the Turk Telekom Arena.
Galatasaray are keen on signing Melo on a permanent basis but are reportedly unwilling to meet Juve’s 6million euro asking price.
The Brazilian has grown frustrated at the lack of progress of negotiations, with rival sides now considering a move for the former Flamengo star.
One of those appear to be Manchester City, with Melo’s agent Jose Rodrigo Baster claiming the Etihad Stadium outfit have enquired about the player.
“City are interested in Melo, the club have made no secret of this and I am free to inform you about this latest development,” Baster was quoted as saying on turkish-football.com. “I love Galatasaray fans, Fatih Terim and the team but the board did the same thing last season.
“Also they had a buy-out clause agreement with Juventus until 30 April 2013.
“I don’t want to be disrespectful but I can’t understand what’s going on and am quite upset about the situation.”
