There are not many players in the Premier League, or even in the whole of Europe for that matter, who are as unlucky as Benjamin Mendy.

The 24-year-old defender only managed to accumulate ten appearances in the top-flight in the 2018/19 season as three injuries hindered and sidelined him for a total of 124 days, making him miss 33 games in all competitions.

Having suffered setback after setback, it may be easy to wonder if the future lays elsewhere for this talented full-back. But if Mendy's latest Instagram story is anything to go by, he is not ready to give up just yet.

Manchester City's ace can be seen hard at work and determined to return in tip-top shape for the 2019/20 campaign, and if the latest reports are to be believed, the Cityzens are still banking on him for the future and trusting in his full recovery.

It seems that Pep Guardiola has not lost faith in the coveted French international just yet.

Nor should he.
