Guardiola makes key Arsenal star a top Man City target

Pep Guardiola has made Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey one of his top midfield transfer targets at Manchester City this summer, according to reports from Football Insider.

The Spanish tactician is set to succeed Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium this summer, with the Citizens having made an official announcement on Monday.

It’s already claimed that Guardiola, who will see out the season with Bayern Munich, will be handed £150m to add players suited to his style of play to City’s ranks, and reports claim that he’s outlined Ramsey as one of his top midfield targets.

The Welshman’s energy, tenacity and technique are all likely to be admired by the ex-Barcelona chief, who is known to favour central options that are more fluid in terms of movement than the likes of Fernandinho and Fernando.

Arsenal will, however, resist offers for Ramsey, but it remains to be seen how the player will feel about his situation if he’s still being used from a wide position by Arsene Wenger in a fully-fit Gunners XI.
