Guardiola ready to break all manner of records in lavish £100m Man City spree

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is ready to break the club’s transfer record TWICE in the build up to the new season, according to the Daily Express.

As fearsome foe Jose Mourinho gears up to welcome £100m Paul Pogba to the Premier League, the City chief is reportedly planning his own blockbuster recruitment drive.

Having already welcomed the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito to the Etihad, the 45-year old tactician is reportedly gearing up for his biggest statement of intent yet.

It is claimed that John Stones and Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are top targets, with their pursuits over the pair revving up recently.

The former is expected to eclipse the £50m set by David Luiz as the world’s most expensive defender, costing upwards of £53m.

A sticking point in the 22-year old’s move from Everton is understood to be the 15% of the fee former club Barnsley are due to receive.

The latter, meanwhile, is said to be in advanced talks over a £58m switch from the Bundesliga giants, with City having to match the club’s hefty valuation amid interest from Atletico Madrid.
