There is no doubt that Sergio Aguero has been a standout player for Manchester City during his seven years at the club.

Bizarrely, despite scoring a mammoth 143 Premier League goals, the Argentina international has never been voted PFA Player of the Year.

The striker is well loved at City, though, but there have been some rumblings about his long-term future at the Etihad Stadium.

This season, the forward has impressed again by netting 30 goals and creating seven assists in all competitions.

However, Aguero has started only 22 top-flight matches and at times was restricted to playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus.

Although, during the latter stages of the campaign, the Argentine has convinced Guardiola to put him ahead of Jesus in the pecking order once again.

According to the Daily Mail, Aguero's former club Atletico Madrid are prepared to test City's resolve by tabling a bid for the attacker this summer.

It is believed that the Spanish outfit are likely to lose Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres in the next few months, which would leave an opening.

Following City's impressive title win, questions will be asked of Guardiola and how he can build on the club's dominance from this season.

Aguero is certainly an asset as he is City's record goalscorer with 199 to his name, but there have been occasions when he has struggled to fit into Guardiola's plans.

With the manager unlikely to leave any time soon, we wonder is it time for Aguero to go?
