Incoming Manchester City boss already plotting Bayern Munich raid

Pep Guardiola already has transfer targets in mind at Manchester City, with his Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara an option, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Spanish tactician is set to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season when his contract at the Allianz Arena expires.

With City one of the most heavily-backed teams, in a financial sense, on the planet, Guardiola can expect to be given funds to work with to build a squad akin to his playing style, and reports (below) claim that he’s already after Thiago.

It’s understood that he’s spoken with Citizens chief executive Ferran Soriano – whom he worked with at Barcelona – to assess potential options ahead of the summer, with his current playmaker a name on their list.

Thiago was at Barca under Guardiola and followed him to Bayern, illustrating his ability to slot into the imminent City boss’ playing style.

It’s also understood that Schalke’s impressive youngster Leroy Sane is a target after his stunning rise in the Bundesliga.
