Man City boss looks to bolster squad further

Pepe

It seems that new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is enjoying life in charge of a wealthy Premier League club, having splashed out near £100 million so far and with more signings being lined up.

Metro has reported that both Real Madrid defender Pepe, and Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio are the latest targets who Pellegrini hopes will aid Man City’s attempt to reclaim the Premier League title.

The controversial Pepe would act as a perfect signing to team up with Belgian Vincent Kompany, and this would serve to be one of the strongest pairs in Europe.  The Portuguese centre back may have drawn his critics, however his strength and skill is proven, both in Domestic and European performances.

Meanwhile, Salvio is perhaps less well known, however is billed to be one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

23 goals in 89 appearances since his move to Benfica in all competitions signal the makings of a great goal scorer, and will offer a great deal on the wings at the Etihad.

There are concerns however about regular first-teamers over the past few seasons who will drop to the bench, and possibly miss out on a World Cup place, with starting eleven slots being of paramount importance next season.
