Man City boss slams striker exit talk

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has moved to quash rumours that Sergio Aguero will be leaving the club in the near future.

The Argentine ace has been one of the Sky Blues’ star men since his arrival in 2011 – netting their title-winning goal against QPR at the end of his debut season.

But despite his importance to the team, there has been speculation circulating that he may be sold in the summer.

Barcelona are believed to have made him a top target for the coming transfer window, while Real Madrid have also been linked with a mega money raid for his signature.

However Pellegrini says that his man is happy and that talk of a transfer is irrelevant:

“[My response] is exactly the same as what I respond to all the other links during the whole year,” he is quoted by The Metro.

“You cannot talk every week about players that are coming here and the players going out.

“Aguero is a Manchester City player, he is very happy here and the club is very happy with him.”

The 25-year-old has netted an impressive 26 goals this term, despite having missed large chunks of the season with a series of injuries.
