The Sky Blues defeated Sunderland 3-1 at Wembley in thrilling game in which they trailed the Black Cats at half-time.
After claiming the first trophy of the season, City are still in contention for another three between now and the last kick of the season.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men are widely seen as favourites to lift the FA Cup and the Premier League, while despite losing the first leg of the Champions League last-16 clash with Barcelona 2-0 they still have a hope of tasting European glory.
Kompany – who played a big role on Sunday – says that the team are cherishing their Cup win and that he is hopeful that there will be more days like that in the not too distant future:
“This victory means a lot to the fans – it means a lot to us.” He is quoted by The Metro.
“There is nothing better than lifting a trophy. It is an incredible feeling. But one thing at a time. Bear in mind for our club it is a new trophy, a new experience. I want everybody to cherish it, first of all.
“It should give us the confidence and make us believe we can still win trophies, and we need to believe for the rest of the season.
“But these experiences don’t happen too many times. We will cherish every single one.”
