Man City confident of ending summer transfers with £50m-rated star

Manchester City are confident that they can cap an impressive summer of transfer business with the addition of ex-Chelsea man Kevin De Bruyne, according to reports from The Guardian.

The Sky Blues have significantly boosted their English ranks so far with the additions of Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Patrick Roberts, with the former seen as a genuine ‘marquee’ buy given his rise to prominence at Liverpool.

But Manuel Pellegrini is not quite finished, with De Bruyne seen as the final piece of the puzzle at the Etihad Stadium.

Reports claim that Manchester City are confident that they can lure the 24-year-old away from Wolfsburg with a fee of £45m – £48m being talked about, despite the German side’s clear £50m price-tag.

The Belgium international has been a revelation since leaving Chelsea in January 2014 to join Wolfsburg, and his 20 Bundesliga assists last season was the highest tally of any player in Europe’s top five leagues.
