Last season saw the 20-year-old establish himself as one of the most exciting youngsters in world football, bagging eight goals and six assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances to claim a place in Joachim Lowe’s Euro 2016 squad.
City’s long-standing interest in the German international is no great secret – in fact, Citizens gaffer Pep Guardiola essentially confirmed his keenness to sign Sane at a press conference last week.
On Saturday evening, The Daily Mail reported that City had agreed a £31.2million transfer fee with FC Schalke – a significant reduction on their original valuation of £50million – with the prodigious winger set to travel to England for a medical.
And Sane’s current club have now confirmed the situation via their official Twitter page after Sane was left out of their training camp squad, posting to followers; “Leroy
#Sané is currently in Manchester and doesn’t travel with the #S04 in the training camp.”

It appears the youngster’s long-awaited move to the Etihad Stadium is now on the verge of completion.
