Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has said that his side will be without any senior strikers for their Boxing Day fixture against West Bromwich Albion.
The Premier League holders beat Crystal Palace 3-0 on Saturday, with two goals from David Silva and a third from Yaya Toure.
“We knew we had to play in a different way than we normally do because we don’t have strikers at this moment, but I thought we did a great job,” Pellegrini said.
“We defended well, after that we had the possession and the patience to create the space. We didn’t score in the first half, but in the second we made a difference.”
Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic are all currently injured, which may force Pellegrini to enter the transfer market in January to bolster his striking options.
