Manchester City fans have reacted to the price tag set by Red Bull Salzburg for star striker Erling Braut Haaland.

Reports from Tuttosport have said that the 19-year-old is valued at €100m (£86m) by RB Salzburg after a truly incredible start to this season, and they consider that the base price for any side who wish to prise him away from Austria.

The Norwegian has become one of the most wanted men in Europe lately, with The Guardian reporting there are 20 clubs seeking his signature.

Haaland's goal in the Champions League against Napoli this week put the Salzburg man on an astonishing 23 goals after 17 games this season. It was also his seventh goal in Europe's elite competition, which means he has averaged a goal every 39 minutes on the big stage.

City fans have reacted quite happily with this new price tag, with one fan labelling him the "next big superstar". Other supporters have alluded to the club's nature to spend and said that the £86m is "pocket change" for City these days.

No doubt whoever prizes Haaland away is going to get a major talent on their hands for years to come.

Pep Guardiola may even see him as a replacement for Sergio Aguero, with the Argentine now 31 years old.
