Manchester City’s hopes of signing Alexis Sanchez have been dented, after the Barcelona ace said he will be staying at the Camp Nou.
The Chilean international has struggled to cement a regular place in the first team under Tito Vilanova, leading to reports linking him with a move to City and Italian giants Juventus.
But the 24-year-old has been quick to deny the rumours, and has insisted he will be playing for the Catalan giants next season.
“Everyone has said they want me to stay on and I am happy to be here for another season.” Sanchez told Sky Sports.
“Other clubs have shown interest in me, but I am happy to remain here and to earn a place in the team, which is most important.
“My intention has always been to stay and to do the best that I can.”
