Man City sanction prodigy’s departure, he could play for PL rivals next season

According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester City youngster Seko Fofana has completed a summer transfer to Udinese.

The Citizens signed the 21-year-old from FC Lorient in summer 2013, but he’s failed to make a single senior appearance for the Premier League title hopefuls.

Instead, the former France U19 has spent his Etihad Stadium tenure out on loan, representing Fulham 21 times in the Championship and plying his trade with Bastia last season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the defensive midfielder’s impressive showings for the Ligue 1 side have convinced Udinese to swoop and Fofana has now moved to Stadio Friuli – as confirmed on the club’s Twitter page.

But it remains to be seen whether the prodigious youngster will actually be a part of Giuseppe Iachini’s first team plans for next season, with GDZ speculating he could go out on loan.

That’s because the Serie A side are owned by the Pozzo family, whose other clubs include Granada and Premier League side Watford – a potential destination for next season, according to the Italian publication.
