Man City set for another defender deal (not Stones or Bonucci)

According to reports from The Sun, defender Elaquim Mangala is being squeezed out of Manchester City.

The Etihad outfit splashed out a staggering £32million on the France international in summer 2014 and he’s struggled to live up to that monolithic price-tag.

Indeed, the 25-year-old has gone on to make just 48 appearances in the Premier League, finding himself stuck behind Martin Demichelis and subsequently Nicolas Otamendi in the pecking order.

The Citizens are now on the verge of signing John Stones in a £50million transfer from Everton, whilst youngster Jason Deneyer is set for a significant first-team role following a promising loan spell at Galatasaray last season.

And The Sun claim that is forcing Mangala towards the Etihad exit door, with La Liga giants Valencia in line to snap up the former Porto prodigy.

Los Che attempted to sign the 6 foot 1 centre-back on loan in January and have close ties with his agent – the increasingly notorious Jorge Mendes.
