Manchester City are planning a sensational £100m overhaul of their attack as they look to strengthen their side ahead of a crucial few months.
With news on Sunday that City have agreed a fee of £30 million for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony, the Eastlands club are also preparing a £25 million raid for Lyon centre-forward Alexandre Lacazette, who has been hugely impressive in France’s Ligue 1 this season.
Should these signings go through, City will of course have to balance the books – especially in light of the current financial fair play restrictions imposed on the club – which may see strikers Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo depart.
Jovetic has been linked with a £20 million move to Italian champions Juventus, while Negredo – currently on loan at Valencia – could make the deal permanent in a £25 million deal.
Following Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday, City lie in second place in the Premier League table, two points off league toppers Chelsea.
