Barring some miraculous event like Eric Cantona coming out of retirement to re-sign for Manchester United or Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealing he’s been having an affair with the Gunnersaurus Rex for 00:01 am on Monday morning, Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Manchester City will be the biggest story of the Premier League’s weekend.
Indeed, many tipped the Citizens to come out on top, having averaged over three goals per game at the Etihad Stadium prior to yesterday’s game, but the Reds netted thrice within the first half an hour and eventually recorded a rather comfortable, albeit rather unexpected, win over the Premier League title favorites.
Resultantly, the vast majority of British newspapers dedicated a double-page spread to discussing the Etihad romping in today’s publications – including the Mirror. But somebody working for the red top tabloid has clearly let the ball slip, making themselves a pretty strong candidate for worst advert placement of the year award.
Joe Hart – yes, the Manchester City No.1 who let in four goals yesterday – finds his ‘unbeatable’ Head and Shoulders advert campaign placed directly below the Liverpool match report. Awkward.
