David Silva says that his Manchester City side are targeting the trophy EVERY competition they are in this season.
The Sky Blues are currently defending Premier League and Capital One Cup champions and are being tipped to make an impact in Europe after establishing themselves as one of the continent’s heavyweights in recent seasons.
Although their massive spending power was curtailed by FFP restrictions over the summer, Manuel Pellegrini still has one of the strongest squad around, which is filled with international players boasting vast experience in some of the world’s top leagues.
City have made a stuttering start to their title defence this term, but as his side gear up to face Chelsea in a top of the table clash, Silva is adamant that his team are gunning for every trophy on offer:
“(The aim is) To win everything.” He is quoted by The Mirror.
“That’s always the objective here.
“We won the league and a cup last year, but losing to Wigan in the quarter-final of the FA Cup has stayed in the back of our minds.
“This is a new year and a new season. We have another opportunity to win everything. Every year you get another chance.”
