Man City to follow up Gundogan capture with record-decimating transfer spree

According to reports from Mirror Football, Manchester City’s spending spree could see them splash out more than £250million on new players during the summer transfer window.

The Citizens have already announced one summer signing in Ilkay Gundogan, who joins the club from Borussia Dortmund in a £21million transfer deal.

But according to Mirror football, the Premier League title hopefuls could spend more than ten times that sum during Pep Guardiola’s inaugural transfer window in the Etihad hot seat.

They claim the incoming former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has told the board he wants to sign a whopping ten players this summer, administering a drastic overhaul of the current City squad.

And that could well see the Eastlands outfit’s spending surpass the £250million mark, which would set a new record for the most spent by one club in a single transfer window.

Real Madrid are the record’s current proprietors, shelling out a whopping £195million on the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka during summer 2009.
