Man City to stick with boss and avoid knee-jerk reactions

Manchester City are ready to stick with Manuel Pellegrini until the end of the season despite speculation he could leave before, according to the Telegraph.

The Chilean has seen his work come under scrutiny at the Etihad Stadium as they have won just one of their last four league games and slipped off the Premier League summit.

Having only handed him a new two-year deal in the summer, those behind the scenes at the club are ready to see how the former Malaga coach does until the end of the season before making a decision.

A spate of injuries have left the 62-year old without the likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany for swathes of the current campaign.

Still, the club are well in the title race and in the last 16 of the Champions League, as well as the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup.

Speculation over Pep Guardiola mounts, though the Spaniard is almost certain to see out his contract with Bayern Munich before leaving Bavaria.

It is understood that the 44-year old will make his decision about his next move over the Bundesliga’s winter break.
