Ahead of the heavyweight clash at the Etihad Stadium, we here at FootballFanCast decided to take a look into the archives to relive the best goals Man City have scored against the Gunners in recent years.

With some memorable efforts netted, Pep Guardiola needs the Man City forwards to add to the collection and most importantly take three points from one of their title rivals.

With the fixture almost upon us, here are the FIVE best Man City goals scored against Arsenal in recent years...

Robinho - 2008

Rewind to 2008, and it was a time Man City were truly grateful big name players were joining their project to become the biggest club in the world.

The first player to be part of the revolution was Robinho and the Brazilian's goal against Arsenal in November 2008 perfectly summed up the maverick character City spent £32.5million to sign.

This chip is still fondly remembered by City supporters and is considered one of the best goals in the 13-year existence of the Etihad Stadium.

Shaun Wright-Phillips - 2009

Long before the Middle Eastern takeover of Manchester City in 2008, Shaun Wright-Phillips was a club icon.

Some say his departure in 2005 saved the club's existence, and his return in 2008 was met with resounding joy.

In the League Cup quarter-final in 2009, City comprehensively beat the Gunners 3-0 with this goal from Wright-Phillips the pick of the bunch.

Sergio Aguero - 2011

Another League Cup clash saw City travel to the Emirates Stadium, this time to take on Arsenal's youngsters.

Sergio Aguero's exceptional finish from a beautiful, fast-paced counter-attack was the difference between the two sides as City came away with a place in the next round of the competition.

City would be beaten by eventual winners Liverpool in the semi-final.

James Milner- 2013

In January 2013, City travelled to the Emirates Stadium having not claimed a victory away at the north London outfit since 1974.

Early on, a red card to Laurent Koscielny set City on their way and James Milner fully capitalised on the one-man advantage by firing his side in front.

City won the contest 2-0 and ended the nearly 40-year wait for an away win against Arsenal.

Kevin De Bruyne - 2016

Last season was considered by the City supporters as one of the most disappointing in recent memory due to the lack of passion and desire shown by the players on a regular basis last season.

One shining light for the Citizens was Kevin De Bruyne and his strike against Arsenal in May perfectly summed up the Belgian midfielder.

His dribbling ability along with his neat finish gave City a 2-1 lead against the Gunners but it would be Alexis Sanchez who would have the final say.
