Manuel Pellegrini is ‘a great manager’ who would be ideal for Manchester City, according to midfielder Samir Nasri.
The France international has spoken out on the Chilean tactician, who is hotly tipped to be the man to replace the axed Roberto Mancini in the Etihad Stadium hot-seat this summer.
And Nasri is in no doubt that Pellegrini has the credentials to be a success with City in the Premier League and Champions League next season following the work his has done, in particular with Villarreal and current club Malaga in the Spanish Primera Division.
He told Sky Sports News: “I think he is a great manager.
“He proved himself with Villarreal. At Real Madrid as well, even though he didn’t win the title, they finished with 96 points. And at Malaga too.
“All his teams play attractive football and I think that’s what people want to see.
“You pay for a ticket to go to football to see something great and he’s the kind of manager who can do it.”
Meanwhile, Nasri also dismissed speculation that he could be leaving City this summer with ambitious French outfit Monaco thought to be looking to sign him.
