For all of their big bucks, Manchester City have been relatively quiet in the transfer window this summer.

In all honesty, Pep Guardiola did not need to revamp his side too much given that they stormed to the Premier League title last season.

He did, however, need to make some tweaks and he has managed to strengthen his wide options by bringing in Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.

One are of the pitch that Guardiola has tried to improve is in midfield, but he failed to land Jorginho, who chose Chelsea instead.

Now, according to Tuttomercatoweb, the North-West outfit are considering a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti.

In some ways, the transfer does seem like a non-starter due to the frosty relationship between City and PSG, whose owners are from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar respectively.

The report claims that Verratti, who is valued at £63m by Transfermarkt, would have to force through a transfer in order to get a deal done, but City are seriously considering making their move.

On Twitter, plenty of City fans have given their thoughts, and many believe that landing Verratti is very unlikely.
