The Premier League champions won on penalties at Wembley after a 1-1 draw at the national stadium on Sunday.

Gundogan scored City’s first penalty as they lifted the first silverware of the season but he endured a rocky start to his performance after being introduced as a substitute by manager Pep Guardiola.

The Germany international touched the ball a total of 23 times, per WhoScored, and did not make a tackle nor win an aerial duel, while he made just 16 successful passes.

And fans were less than impressed with the 28-year-old's showing prior to the shootout, despite City’s victory and his goal from the spot, with many feeling that he is not quite up to speed ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
