Manchester City fans would have been delighted to see Gabriel Jesus getting the nod for the Brazil national team at the World Cup.

However, some supporters have been left less then enthused by his performances for his country.

Last season, Jesus, who is valued at £72m by Transfermarkt, scored an impressive 17 goals and created five assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

Questions were raised about whether Tite was going to choose Jesus to start or Liverpool star Roberto Firmino, but the former suits the system better.

Jesus played in all three of Brazil's group matches, but he is yet to find the back of the net, although he did register an assist.

The 21-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact, and some City fans have blamed teammate Neymar for their star's failure to have more luck in front of goal.

Others, though, have suggested that Jesus has not been at the races so far in Russia.

City supporters took to Reddit to debate the forward's performances.
