Manchester City fans delighted by De Bruyne’s response to Toure drama

Kevin De Bruyne can do no wrong in the eyes of Manchester City fans at the moment, and it is easy to see why.

The Belgium international, who failed to make the grade at Chelsea, was a key figure in City storming to the Premier League title.

The playmaker, who is valued at a whopping £135m by Transfermarkt, scored 12 goals and created 20 assists in all competitions for the North-West outfit.

Many were surprised that De Bruyne missed out on PFA Player of the Year, but Mohamed Salah’s 44-goal haul led the Liverpool star to the individual honour.

The Belgian would have felt disappointment in not taking home the gong, but he claimed at even bigger prize at the end of the season by earning the Premier League title.

The celebrations have been tainted somewhat, though, following Yaya Toure’s criticism of manager Pep Guardiola.

The Ivorian midfielder recently left City after an eight-years spell, and he took a parting shot at the boss during an explosive interview with France Football.

The former Barcelona star suggested that Guardiola dislikes African players and accused the ex-Bayern Munich boss of being “jealous” of him.

De Bruyne has since been asked about the remarks, and according to The Guardian, the 26-year-old told BBC World Football that he never witnessed what Toure is accusing Guardiola of.

City fans have been full of praise for De Bruyne’s reaction.
