You'd be forgiven for thinking that a 2-1 win for Manchester City over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium is as routine as a Premier League victory gets.

That doesn't tell the whole story though. Pep Guardiola's side had to overcome massive adversity to secure the win and bounce back from the defeat against Liverpool on New Year's Eve.

Fernandinho was sent off in the 32nd minute but the 10-men disadvantage didn't show with Aguero and Clichy inspiring their side to a storming second half performance that saw them run out 2-1 winners.

Burnley rallied to going down but their dramatic goal that saw use of goal-line technology was not enough to peg City back.

The win means Guardiola's side have taken a vital move back above Arsenal and Spurs ahead of the London sides' games later this week.

It seems that when City are at their most vulnerable, that's when they show their best form. This is the second game in a row at the Etihad that Guardiola's men have shown team spirit and rallied to pick up a win against the odds, after going 1-0 down within 5 minutes against Arsenal in December.

Supporters were of course happy with the victory and took to Twitter to share their joy...
