Some Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Nicolas Otamendi for his performance in the 3-2 defeat to Norwich.
The back-to-back champions were shocked by the Canaries at Carrow Road as goals from Kenny McLean, Todd Cantwell and the in-form Teemu Pukki helped Daniel Farke’s men beat Pep Guardiola’s side.
Goals from Sergio Aguero and Rodri made things interesting late on, but Otamendi’s terrible error for Norwich’s third goal ultimately proved costly as the Citizens suffered their first defeat of the season.
The Argentina international was caught napping on the ball by Emi Buendia, who squared for Pukki to poke home, while the former Valencia centre-back looked a liability all game.
Let’s see what the City fans on Twitter have been saying about the 6 foot man’s showing…
We were absolutely terrible yesterday. Whilst for some it was a bad day at the office, for others (the back 4) the cracks are becoming gaps. Time for Cancelo as a minimum. Mendy ain’t the answer to left back issues. Otamendi is a liability. Keep the faith blues #mcfc

That simply wasn’t good enough. Why persist with walker when there’s a better option constantly on the bench and otamendi, well, erm….he’s certainly had his day. #MCFC

Peps got it completely wrong. Why gundo and Rodri away at norwich ? Otamendi should be nowhere near our first 11. It’s same issues and mistakes from last season. Yes pep may be a great coach but clearly doesn’t learn from mistakes ! #NORMCI #MCFC

#mcfc Norwich played well with about 8 key players out with injury. Walker was trying too hard – headless chicken and we lacked our usual mojo. Otamendi has one bad error in him every game. Well done @NorwichCityFC
