Manchester City fans split over allowing Brahim Diaz to leave on loan

Brahim Diaz has been part of the Manchester City fold since 2013 when he joined their academy from Malaga.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play on either wing, worked his way through the Under-18s and Under-23s, but he is yet to break into the first team.

That is not a huge shock considering that Diaz is only 18 years old, but he has shown promise in the development ranks.

Last season, the teenager scored six goals in 27 appearances, with four coming in the Premier League 2 and two in the UEFA Youth League.

As well as finding the back of the net, the youngster created four assists, which has attracted the attention of Girona.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the club are trying to poach him for the second year running.

Diaz is currently represented by the brother of City manager Pep Guardiola, Pere, who also happens to be part-owner of Girona.

The publication states that the City boss would be happy for the teenager to leave on loan to gain more experience.

Some fans agree with that sentiment, while others want the midfielder to be given opportunities in the Premier League in the 2018-19 campaign.
