Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may have to look for a new member of his backroom team in the coming weeks as Mikel Arteta could be on the move.

According to Sky Sports, the Spaniard is due to hold further talks with Arsenal about potentially succeeding Arsene Wenger as manager.

Arteta has not yet managed a team on his own having spent the last two years learning from Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.

The 36-year-old has a good relationship with Arsenal given that he spent five years of his playing career at the Emirates.

Arsenal fans have had their say on the potential appointment via social media, and now City fans are wondering who would come in to replace the coach.

Somewhat ambitiously, supporters are hopeful that Barcelona superstar Andres Iniesta will join the club.

The 34-year-old, who has won 35 trophies including the World Cup with Spain, recently called an end to his illustrious career at Barcelona.

In an interview with Radio Marca, the midfield maestro admitted that he has spoken to Guardiola, who coached him at Barcelona for four years, but ruled out playing for the Cityzens.

City fans are not discussing the possibility of Iniesta joining the squad, but they are keen for the Spaniard to be part of the coaching setup.
