Manchester City fans willing to push Sterling through the exit gates

Raheem Sterling had arguably one of the best seasons of his career during the 2017-18 campaign for Manchester City.

The former Liverpool winger helped the team win the Premier League title by contributing an impressive 18 goals and 15 assists.

Unfortunately for Sterling, valued at £81m by Transfermarkt, he was unable to carry that form with him into the World Cup as his lack of end product frustrated England fans.

Now, according to The Mirror, City have decided that they will sell the 23-year-old if he fails to sign a new contract.

Sterling is tied down to the champions until 2020, but it is believed that the club are refusing to allow players to run down their contracts.

The publication claims that the winger’s camp are pushing for an increase on his £170,000-a-week wage to around £250,000 and they were hoping that a strong World Cup would convince City to agree, but Sterling failed to consistently impress.

City fans have been giving their thoughts on the reports via Twitter, and some are open to offloading Sterling.

A handful of supporters suggested that the club should try to land Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe as his replacement.
