Raheem Sterling had arguably one of the best seasons of his career during the 2017-18 campaign for Manchester City.
The former Liverpool winger helped the team win the Premier League title by contributing an impressive 18 goals and 15 assists.
Unfortunately for Sterling, valued at £81m by Transfermarkt, he was unable to carry that form with him into the World Cup as his lack of end product frustrated England fans.
Now, according to The Mirror, City have decided that they will sell the 23-year-old if he fails to sign a new contract.
Sterling is tied down to the champions until 2020, but it is believed that the club are refusing to allow players to run down their contracts.
The publication claims that the winger’s camp are pushing for an increase on his £170,000-a-week wage to around £250,000 and they were hoping that a strong World Cup would convince City to agree, but Sterling failed to consistently impress.
City fans have been giving their thoughts on the reports via Twitter, and some are open to offloading Sterling.
A handful of supporters suggested that the club should try to land Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe as his replacement.
Only sell if we can get Mbappe as his replacement, if we can get Mbappe and keep Raheem that’s a bonus

£170k per week is very fair (and generous) compensation for what he brings to the table. If he thinks there is more available elsewhere, good luck to him.

World Cup took his wage from £170k to £50k

Silva and Mahrez breathing down his neck will need to have a big year and sign. Definitely see him being sold if he doesn’t sign.

I love sterling but come on that’s way too much money. If we can get Mbappe then sell him

Me, sell him. Jesus as well. They flatter to deceive. Raz needs to go abroad out of the UK limelight. Jesys god knows.. maybe Spain or Italy. Too lightweight…Both not fit to wipe Sergio’s boots in my opinion. The day Sergio goes will be a bad day for us.
