Manuel Pellegrini will make a move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez if he is appointed Manchester City boss, according to the Mirror.
Pellegrini is expected to take charge at the Etihad Stadium after revealing he will leave Malaga at the end of the season and he is already starting to draw up his wanted list.
Liverpool striker Suarez is on it despite the fact he will miss the start of next season after being hit with a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
That has not deterred Pellegrini, who wants to link Suarez up with Sergio Aguero after the Argentina ace put pen-to-paper on a one year contract extension.
Suarez has insisted he is happy at Liverpool while Reds boss Brendan Rodgers says the Uruguayan ace is not for sale, but that will not stop City from making an approach.
